Established in 1973
We originally set up our Doorstep Dairy business in 1973 with just 1 round & when we sold the business in 2003 when we had 9 rounds.
Tiger Hire was originally set up in 1999 to provide customers with a ‘One Stop Shop’ for everything required for Events, Weddings, Parties etc
That included supplying Marquees, Catering Equipment, Bouncy Castles, Toilets & more, something it had been doing very well for over 20 years, but all good things come to an end.
We started to plan for a life of Retirement towards the end of 2019, then ‘Covid’ happened which threw a giant sized spanner in the works.
Marquee Hire is quite a physical type of job and is best suited to a younger workforce.
We had planned to complete the 2020 season & sell our Marquees and Toilets at the end of that year to start the next phase of our lives.
Despite all the difficulties we made the decision to continue with the plan to sell our marquees by an online auction which took place in Oct 2020.
We decided to setup a Self Storage business as a way of providing a ‘Retirement’ income utilising our yard & buildings.
We have now converted 2 of the buildings we had for storing marquees into ‘Self Storage’ rooms of different sizes ranging from 25 sqft to 100 sqft.
Our Toilet Hire business was closed & the toilets were sold in early 2021, so we now have more time to devote to our self storage business
We soon realised there was a requirement for Container Self Storage & we now have a number of new 20ft containers, all have foam insulation inside on the ceilings.
We are looking forward to a new challenge & meeting new people.

James
James does most of the outside work, he is practical but hates decorating, he likes playing with almost anything with an engine & this currently revolves around his collection of vintage tractors & machinery, going to shows & on tractor road runs.
Richard
Since the demise of our Marquee & Toilet Hire business. Richard and his wife Kellie have been busy building up their 'Aurora Rides' 'Private Hire Taxi' business, which seems to be doing ok, they specialise mainly in airport & Seaport runs these days..
Linda
Linda does our accounts & keeps us in order, She is most likely to answer the phone when you ring. she loves doing accounts, it's a marriage made in heaven, some of us hate paperwork.
She likes white wine & gin, she enjoys needlework when time allows & is very good in the kitchen.
Tracy
Tracy enjoys working with figures she is qualified in Sage & is working for TFM a local Country Store doing their accounts, she also keeps an eye on our accounts with her mum. In her spare time she navigates on Rallies in an RS1800 Mk2 Ford Escort. She loves driving tractors especially this one which was her late Grandpa's 1950 Nuffield Universal.
